I must say this is not only one of the best articles I've, thus far, read on Medium, but it is refreshingly honest and to topical. I can only add that it has long been established that a rentier is someone who earns income from capital without working.

That said, the exploitative, unfair and otherwise disadvantages practices are only possible because the governments have abdicated their responsibilities to regulate in the interest of all, in the interest of capital. Capitalism is an excellent system for one thing and one thing only - accumulation of profit. Unrestrained, it turns into a monster.
