Thank you for highlighting the issue most of us are worried about. Some months ago, I wrote about it, and Tony reassured me in much the same manner as he had done in his comment here. In the absence of the evidence to the contrary - I am taking it in good faith. That said, I can't help but notice that there is money to be made and a lot of money at that. It is how modern, surveillance capitalism works - it first entices us to volunteerly give our stuff away, then regurates it and sells it back to us. A stroke of genius don't you think! Jokes aside - the real issue is 'the very little opportunity to see behind the curtain.' Lack of transparency means lack of options and that is never a good sign. Unlike on my own site, on Medium I don't have the option of banning AI from using my content. I can only trust. Or leave. Which, too, are options.
