I enjoyed reading your article -:)! Next week will be a month since I posted my first-ever article on Medium, and my experience mirrors yours. I, too, believe that quality and especially consistency are more important than quantity. I also didn't know that it is possible to clap 50 times, but once I learned that, I've been using it! As for the niche, I know it is not for me since I write poetry, stories, and essays which are basically musings. That said, I understand the role of niche and how it can be very helpful to many.
